Today, third day of the Mahashivaratri Brahmotsavam. Nithyanandeshwara Paramashiva, Nithyanandeshwari Parashakti are gracing in Sarvalankara Amlana Mala, gracing in Svarna Vrishabha Vahana in Adi Kailasa, Nithyananda Peetham. We now offer our worship at their feet.

Paramashiva’s message from Shrikailasa directly. Listen. Tyaga: the superpower, superforce of Kailasa forms intense spiritual umbilical cord connection between you and Paramashiva. Strongly, powerfully, intensely it cleanses, detoxes your whole being, makes you manifest the state, space, powers, being, superconsciousness, Shrikailasa of Paramashiva, understand. Just keep this one thing alive in you - tyaga. Let me define tyaga once more. Asserting the ultimate truth, your reality … and dropping all the delusory, illusory identities, interferences and inferences due to it. Go on with the tyaga. The light being of Bhole Baba, Paramashiva’s light being will start manifesting in you the moment you start living tyaga as your first principle. Understand. Paramashanta Svarupa, … light being … is the greatest gift you will manifest when you start living tyaga.
Listen. I am trying to explain tyaga from all angles. See, ... tyaga brings such powerful maturity to your very existence, I am telling you. Actually when you start practicing tyaga, you will not lose any resources in your life. You will just lose all delusions in your life. You will have an amazing career, amazing wealth, amazing happy relationship. See as I was explaining yesterday, feeling Oneness with too people, that resources. Resource is nothing but how many people you feel Oneness and how many people feel Oneness with you is the resource. It is not at all the zeros in your bank balance. Understand. Even if you have billion dollar, you cannot make Mythreyi wear jata. All it took for me is, “Kanna, jada vechuko (Dear, have jatas).” That’s all. She’s having jata now. That is what is the power of Oneness. Even if you have billion dollar, you cannot make Mythreyi wear jata. All it took for me, just in the DTA I told, “Enough, made you husband scratch his hair, his hair, he become bald. You just have jata.” One, I had such kind of a freedom over her. Not that I feel free with everyone. Only if I see that their Oneness so sweet, I feel free with them. One, the way I feel free with her and saying that, “Eh Kanna, jada vechuko (Eh dear, have jatas).” And the second, immediately she doing it.
I want to tell you, now last two years, a new layer of devotees are forming, who has never seen me physically, who doesn’t know how my touch feels, who doesn’t know how my physical energy darshan feels, who has never touch my feet even once physically, who has not seen me physically; the big layer of devotees are forming. In that layer, Mythreyi is the top. Even if you have billion dollar, you cannot make someone wear jata. No. I tell you, … money in your bank … is not your resource. That maybe one dimension of your resources. Maybe I can say one aspect of your resources. But, life happens by the number of people with whom you feel Oneness and the number of people who you, how you, they feel Oneness with you. Understand.
Tyaga will make you highly mature. And … the kind of the maturity required for success in every level, whether in the outer world or in the inner world, jnana or vijnana. Jnana, prajnana, vijnana, in every level. I really wanted you to know tyaga is resource, not renunciation. Tyaga is resource, not renunciation. I will not cheat you. I love you. I'll tell you the truth as it is. Tyaga is not throwing away something. Tyaga is maturing so that many things drop from you, may drop from you. A fruit ripes, it just drops from the tree. It’s not that … fruit is forcefully plucked away from the tree. No. When the fruit ripes and ready to become a seed, the father another new tree - fruit just drops. Same way, … beautifully tyaga is revealed to Markandeya Maharshi by Paramashiva through Mrityunjaya Mantra.
त्र्यम्बकं यजामहे सुगन्धिं पुष्टिवर्धनम् tryambakaṃ yajāmahe sugandhiṃ puṣṭivardhanam
Listen to that word, how the cucumber falls off from the plant by becoming mature. Many things may fall off from you through the maturity is tyaga. Infuse tyaga in you means asserting your highest reality. I tell you, … remember this one thing, “Eh, I am Paramashiva, how can I be this silly?” Whether fear or greed or anger, any powerlessness, conflict raises in you, just ask, “Eh, I am Paramashiva. How can I be this silly?” It’ll just drop. That is tyaga.
You are a billion and some homeless man has stolen a bucket outside your house. Will you go and shoot him and fight with him and bring that bucket back? One dollar, poor man. You are a billionaire. And you are sitting in the park with a cup of coffee. Some homeless man came and just took away that cup of coffee and drank. You’ll just shoot him … for a cup of coffee? Eh, poor man, get him one more cup. If you shoot somebody for a cup of coffee, how silly you feel. Even if you think of shooting, how silly it is. In Hindu tradition, anyone … steals food for eating should not be punished. I give this as a spiritual instruction to all my followers and disciples. Anybody asks cooked food or food items to be cooked and ate, cook and eat, to eat, … cook and eat - not only you should give, … even if one or two people are dependent on him, his family, his immediate family, for them also you should pack and give.
For all my ashrams and temples, this is spiritual guidance. Cooked food or items to cook and eat, … anybody wants, should be given. I was reported that somebody in the kitchen, in Adi Kailash, some workers are stealing some of the … food ingredients like a rice, wheat, all that. We call kōtumai (கோதுமை). Kōtumai, we call wheat I think, w-h-e-a-t and rice, r-i-c-e. Rice, wheat, rava, all these small small >>>inaudible<<<. Rava we don’t use. Rice and wheat. Rice and wheat. I said, “Eh, … if they want for their family, people who are dependant on them,” in India usually … five to ten people may be the maximum dependant family. Usually it’ll be five in all middle class family and maximum maybe ten. For all that five to ten people, give whatever we, they want. Pack and nicely give, why should they steal? Supply food for them. And … for them to cook and eat, give the ingredients.
All my temples, any living being, not just human beings, any living being has a right over the life and food in all my campuses. Anybody who follows my spiritual instruction, accepts me as the spiritual … Pontiff, Supreme Pontiff, spiritual head - you should follow this. All beings, dog, cat, … any being has the right over life and food, fundamental right. Only if there are some animals which can be dangerous to Gurukul Balasanths, like a snakes, poisonous snakes; those animals can be kept outside the campus means they should be driven out. Even that, I want to tell you, you should avoid killing, maximum you should avoid killing. You can drive them out. You are not, really not able to drive them out in that war, if they die - okay. That is only for poisonous animals that exemption. Otherwise, we have no right to kill any animal. Not only all of them have a right to survive, they have a right to food. All our ashrams should follow these principles. Anyone comes for food, give them. They don’t need to steal. And, if they want food for their immediate dependants, give them. They want to cook and eat, give the ingredients.
Let me come back to the subject. Listen. Tyaga is asserting the higher … reality, ultimate truth and … ferociously asserting the ultimate truth and dropping all other identities and interferences of those identities and inferences of those identities. “I am Paramashiva. How can I be this silly?” That's all. That’s the ultimate principle. “I am Paramashiva. How can I be this silly?” That's the ultimate first principle of tyaga. “How can fear touch me? How can any greed reach me? No. I am Paramashiva.” Drop the identities which is causing fear or greed. That is tyaga.
Kailasa … breathes tyaga, lives tyaga, radiates tyaga, manifest tyaga. Tyaga is like a … very pleasure giving heat. Kailasa Jyoti, the light of Kailasa is intense light, kind of a sweet pleasure awakening heat inside the body. The kind of a heat which is very pleasant and intensely makes you feel that pleasure of your existence. You feeling so pleasant about your existence, such pleasure about your existence … internally. That is tyaga. Tyaga instigates that feeling. Pleasant, … pleasure heat … like Shuka Jyoti. >>>inaudible<<< for all of us to experience tyaga. Tyaga is not only greatest strategy for outer world, inner world success, … it is the greatest strategy for keeping you alive, fresh, pleasant, ecstatic even everyday, I tell you. Tyaga intensely makes your digestive organs active, alive. Your whole stomach becomes alive, cleaning, detoxing your system. The jatharagni becomes alive with tyaga.
I tell you, Adi Shankarcharya’s power of tyaga, such ... He was doing his parivrajak yatra. One of the greatest incarnation walked on the planet earth. >>>inaudible<<< he was feeling very thirsty, and looked around. There was no one, only a small arrack shop, village arrack shop where they get that padhani from the palm tree, and then they sell the village arrack. I don’t want to say alcohol or a drug. Kind of a village drink which also gives you a kind of a kick. So only that was there. And … villager, poor man was little reluctant to offer this to sannyasi. Shankarcharya said, “No problem, don’t worry, give me.” He drank. His disciples were little, “What is this? Being a sannyasis, how can he drink arrack?” But anyhow, they did not question Guru. They also drank.
And after few days, … again Shankara had a little thirst and nothing was around and there was a guy who was melting metal for making weapons. The melted iron … was ready and he was trying to pour into the mould and make weapon. Shankaracharya was feeling thirsty. Adi Shankaracharya and he asked that guy, “Can you give me something?” He said, “Nothing is there other than this metal.” He said, “Okay, pour the metal.” He asked him to pour and drank the whole thing. The tyaga power! His stomach digested the whole thing! He did not die! He look the disciples and ask, “Whoever drank arrack because I drank, please go for that.” Of course, none of them were that mature or had that kind of a tyaga, whose stomach can digest everything and detox. But I tell you, even if you start practicing tyaga in your own level, you may not digest melted metal, but you will be able to detox your whole system. That much is easily possible.
Adi Shankaracharya is our Guru. And I wanted all of you to know, after thoroughly doing research for almost two years, … the mother documents of Madurai Aadheenam which I studied when I was there, and other documents released by Kamaraj University, Madurai Kamaraj University. The Madurai Kamaraj University has published a book - Madurai Temple Complex History and other books which I had the opportunity to read, study. After thorough researches - Sthana Varalaru, Sthanika Varalaru of Madurai, temple, aadheenam, mutt; Madurai Shyamala Peetha Sarvajnapeetham had six mathadhipatyam (मथाधिपत्यम्, mathādhipatyam) under it. Madurai Aadheenam is one, Jnanasambandar matham, Jnanasambandar matham is one of that six.
After thoroughly studying the whole history, … now I am making this statement very responsibly … with lot of joy and happiness. With the multiple resources, historical facts and truths, bits and pieces putting together and collaborating, I am making this statement. Adi Shankaracharya ascended the throne of Shyamala Peetha Sarvajnapeetham of Madurai as 117th Guru Mahasannidhanam with the title, the coronation title; whenever a Sannidhanam ascends, when a person ascends the throne of Shyamala Peetha Sarvajnapeetha, he is given the coronation name, the coronation title - Shanmatha Sthapana Desikar. Of course, then it comes Sri Jnanasambandar Desika Paramacharya Swamigal. Shanmatha Sthapana Desikar with the title as a 117th Guru Mahasannidhanam in that long list of 293. He has ascended the Shyamala Peetha Sarvajnapeetham throne … in Madurai.
I am responsible for this statement because after doing thorough study ... the Sthana Varalaru, Sthanika Varalaru documents published by Madurai Kamaraj University, books published by them, and all many other research materials which I was able to lay my eyes. With enough of proof after doing thorough research, … studying the Sthana Varalaru, Sthanika Varalaru, everything, I am making this statement. Madurai had six mathadhipatyam and under Shyamala Peetha Sarvajnapeetham. Of course, now fortunately only one that, one Guru Parampara is still alive, unbroken. That is that Madurai Aadheenam that 293 Guru Mahasannidhanams … till me. That only this Guru Parampara is unbroken. So all these other six have been merged into this one and this is keeping that whole chain alive. But there was a time this peetham deputed six people to take care of the six mathadhipatyam.
So … I have some of the digital scans to present. This is the scan copy, I don’t have the original document. Original document must be in the aadheenam. I have the scan. Maybe it’s with the Madurai Kamaraj University, I don’t know. Who has the original, I don't know but I have the scan.
Madurai Kamaraj University also has published the book called Madurai Temple Complex History. I was really surprised but it's a wonderful news to share with you all. After thorough study, after thoroughly analyzing, I am making this statement. Adi Shankaracharya … because I try to cross verify whether the Shanmatha Sthapana Desikar and Adi Shankaracharya is the same person. In multiple references, with all the references and study, I am of the conclusion, opinion, of course with the Paramashiva’s grace, I use my intuition also to see the Akashic Records. Adi Shankaracharya ascended the throne of Shyamala Peetha Sarvajnapeetham in Madurai as 117th Guru Mahasannidhanam with the pattabhisheka title, coronation title - Shanmatha Sthapana Desikar. I am so happy that some way I am connected to Adi Shankaracharya.
Adi Shankaracharya is my love and what a personality, what a being. Just in thirty two years, what he has done. Literally for coming down as Adi Shankaracharya and organizing the whole Hinduism and tsk, today whatever we know as Hinduism is the gift of Adi Shankaracharya. So 117th … Sannidhanam, Guru Mahasannidhanam is Shanmatha Sthapana Desikar. Because in the rama, in the Madurai Aadheenam pravaram, the national anthem introduction - pravaram, the word “Jagadguru” and all that words, which no other aadheenam has, no other aadheenam in Tamil Nadu has a Sarvajnapeetha title. Only Madurai Aadheenam has Sarvajnapeetha title. So with all those references, only Shankara Parampara uses the word “Sarvajnapeetha” for their mutts and aadheenams. Only Shankara Parampara uses the title “Jagadguru.” Other than Shankara Parampara, Shankaracharya Mutts, only Madurai Aadheenam has the title “Jagadguru” traditionally.
So with all the cross references, the historical points, dots put together, and the book published by my own Sannidhanam - 292nd Guru Mahasannidhanam Srila Sri Arunagirinatha Gnanasambanda Desika Paramacharya Swamigal. Swamiji has published a beautiful book called Madurai Aadheenam Varalaru. From that book also, I analyzed all the references and that pravara published by Sannidhanam, my Guru Mahasannidhanam - Srila Sri Arunagirinatha Gnanasambanda Desika Paramacharya Swamigal. I’ve analyzed thoroughly. Only after that I am making this statement, I know many people will attack me for making this statement. One side, the attack may come even from modern day Shankara followers. Attack may come even from the modern day Shaiva followers. I don’t know. But I am not going to lie to the world. I have done enough research and all the documents I have done research, whatever evidences I have, I will be happy to publish it to the world.
The Sthana Varalaru, Sthanika Varalaru, the book by my own Guru Mahasannidhanam - Srila Sri Arunagirinatha Gnanasambanda Desika Paramacharya Swamigal, the pravaras, recorded pravara means recorded introduction, it’s like a national anthem. When a Sannidhanam comes, the chant - padavali (पदावली, padāvalī) chanted, that is the national anthem for that samsthana. And each kingdom, each samsthana has their own pada, padavali and national anthem. So all that, after studying all of it. And the functional structure, the titles of various mutts, aadheenams, monasteries … and many books published by Shankara Sampradaya - Sringeri Mutt and Kanchi Mutt; and the time, historical references. I have done lots of study. Still I am not able to match that year, which year, I am not able to pin which year Adi Shankara has ascended the throne because he sings about Jnanasambandar in Soundarya Lahari - Dravida Shishu. And, Madurai Aadheenam pravaram also calls Jnanasambandar as Dravida Veda Pravartaka. So that “Dravida Shishu” word is directly associated to Jnanasambandar.
So with all these, … I am able to come to a conclusion Jnanasam the err … Adi Shankaracharya ascended the throne of Shyamala Peetha Sarvajnapeetham in Madurai as 117th Guru Mahasannidhanam. That much I am able to come to a conclusion. That year, I am not able to pinpoint. That still I am working, trying to find the references. I am also of the opinion that Jnanasambandar’s commonly accepted age, the year, number of, sorry, the era. From my experience, from my analysis, I feel it’s little early. Commonly it is accepted maybe 7th century or something like that. And, I feel it’s little earlier because Adi Shankaracharya is … the successor, means after Jnanasambandar. That is why he sang about Jnanasambandar in Soundarya Lahari. So, the exact year I am not able to pinpoint. But I am able to come to this much of conclusion that Adi Shankaracharya ascended the throne of Shyamala Peetha Sarvajnapeetham in Madurai. He was coronated with the title “Shanmatha Sthapana Desikar” as 117th Guru Mahasannidhanam.
That much I am able to … come to conclusion. Because too many things, Shankaracharya has picked up from Shyamala Peetha Sarvajnapeetham tradition, and replicated when he established six mutts. From my analysis, I personally believe Shankaracharya established six mutts - Sringeri, Dwaraka, Puri, Badrikashram, Kanchi, Kashi. Kanchi has Moolamnaya Peetham. Kashi has the Urdhvamnaya Peetham. So six mutts Shankaracharya himself has established. And, from many existing Sarvajnapeetha he ascended and had formal pattabhishekam and guided them for certain period. Like a Kashmir Sarvajnapeetham he ascended. The Kashmir Sharada Sarvajnapeetham he ascended on that peetham, had pattabhishekam. And from that Sarvajnapeetham, he guided people for sometime.
And same way, Kashi there was a Sarvajnapeetham before Shankara. He ascended that Sarvajnapeetham also. And then he himself established one more mutt. And Madurai Sarvajnapeetham, Shyamala Peetha Sarvajnapeetham he ascended. And, he guided that mutt as Guru Mahasannidhanam maybe for some, some time - revived, organized, structured, inspired, then he might have continued his parivrajak yatra, his journey further. So in Kan, Kanchi also, when he came to Kanchi, there was a Sarvajnapeetham. He ascended that Sarvajnapeetham, had coronation, then he also established another one new mutt, which is the present Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham. From Adi Shankaracharya, that Guru Parampara comes.
So understand, after doing thorough study, I am making this statement. And I have enough of historical evidences, references collected for the statement I am making. I have done lot of study and then only I am making this statement. And I know the repercussions and people, the historians or some people may try to attack me for this statement I am making. But, I’ll tell whatever is historically true, I’ll share it to the whole world. Because both side may not want Adi Shankaracharya being associated with Madurai Shyamala Peetha Sarvajnapeetham. And, but I’ll reveal the truth as it is. I have a deep devotion for Adi Shankaracharya and deep devotion for Jnanasambandar - both, and absolute integrity to my Guru Parampara, the whole Guru Parampara 292 Guru Mahasannidhanams. I have absolute integrity to the whole Guru Parampara. So naturally whatever scientific, historical references, records, documents I am collecting, I am studying, research I am doing - I will reveal all the results of those researches to all of you.
Let me come back to the subject - tyaga. Tyaga will make you have a stomach like Adi Shankaracharya … which can grind and digest anything! Anything! Madurai Kamaraj University has published lot of relevant historical records about the Madurai Aadheenam and Madurai whole temple history, the whole Shyamala Peetha Sarvajnapeetha history. And also the Leela Navam, Shiva Leela Navam, the official documentation of Meenakshi’s life story. All of that also gives lot of insights and understanding about the Guru Parampara and the functionality of Shyamala Peetha Sarvajnapeetham. Umm.
Today, I will install intense tyaga energy. Let's meditate on that tyaga, Shuka Jyoti, the pleasant light, very pleasurable fire, tyaga inside us. With the grace of Paramashiva, I’ll connect all of us to Paramashiva and Kailasa, that same space of pure tyaga. Before the process, I have a very beautiful, sweet video to share with you all. Surprisingly from Junior Vikatan. Junior Vikatan and Nithyananda ... new found love?! And … it is a sweet surprise from Junior Vikatan. Please see this video and then I’ll speak about it. Then we’ll enter into the process.
That’s it, so … Now let’s move to the meditation process. I am going to initiate all of you into the depth of tyaga, the powerful cognition of tyaga. Tyagaraja Paramashiva, He’s real. Assert your existence is Paramashiva. The source person in you is more than the first person, second person, third person you know as you. So, sit straight and cognize ... you are Paramashiva.
